Ashatheeram Anniversary and Christmas Celebration 2010

The third anniversary and Christmas celebration of Ashatheeram Growth Foundation was held on the 21, December 2010 at Myladi, Nilambur. Mr. Rasheed Ali, member of the local Panchayat inaugurated the function at 6 pm. Saji Chellimattam, Chairman of Ashatheeram, made the welcome speech and explained the objectives of Ashatheeram Growth Foundation. Manoj V.G., Associate Director of Ashatheeram, gave the Christmas message. Mr. Damodaran, representing the community, gave felicitation. George Jose pronounced vote of thanks. About 150 people from the village participated. . Christmas gifts were distributed to all the children who attended the program. Students from Focus India Theological College presented various cultural programs through skits, dances, songs etc. Rev. Jacob Paul coordinated the cultural programs as well as a quiz program about Nilambur. Winner of each question was given prize.The function was closed with tea and Christmas cake.

Education Helps


                                      
The second official program of ATGF was conducted on 28th May 2008 at Bharat College, Pookkottumpadam. Mr. Basheer, the manager of Bharat College inaugurated the program by giving away the first school kit. The school kit included school bag, umbrella, tiffin box, note books, pen, pencil, eraser, sharpner etc. and cash for buying a pair of school uniform. Twenty eight school-going children from very poor families in the village benefited from this program. This program was conducted under the supervision of Sri. Saji Chellimattam, Chairman, ATGF, Sri. George Jose, program Convener and Sri Biju V. J., Trustee.

Medical Camp for Villagers

A Medical Camp was conducted by Ashatheeram in association with the Manjeri Eye Hospital on 8th March at Bharat College, Pookkottumpadam,Nilambur, Malappuram District. It was a free eye camp for detecting cataract and give them free surgery at the Manjeri Eye Hospital. Patients who needed to wear glasses were offered them for subsidised price. About 125 people benefited from this camp. A team of doctors and staff from the hospital inspected patients and treatments determined. About 20 of them were detected to have cataract and were given dates for their surgery.

The Camp was inaugurated by Ms C. Sujatha, President of Amarambalam Grama Panchayat. Felicitations were made by Mr. P. Abraham, the opposition leader of the said Panchayat, and Mr. Joy Mathew, Vice Principal, Bharat College, Pookkottumpadam.
