A Medical Camp was conducted by Ashatheeram in association with the Manjeri Eye Hospital on 8th March at Bharat College, Pookkottumpadam,Nilambur, Malappuram District. It was a free eye camp for detecting cataract and give them free surgery at the Manjeri Eye Hospital. Patients who needed to wear glasses were offered them for subsidised price. About 125 people benefited from this camp. A team of doctors and staff from the hospital inspected patients and treatments determined. About 20 of them were detected to have cataract and were given dates for their surgery.
The Camp was inaugurated by Ms C. Sujatha, President of Amarambalam Grama Panchayat. Felicitations were made by Mr. P. Abraham, the opposition leader of the said Panchayat, and Mr. Joy Mathew, Vice Principal, Bharat College, Pookkottumpadam.
Saji Chellimattam is an ordained Christian Minister and a qualified Pastoral Counselor, specialised in Christian Ministry (Counseling). He has done his Bachelor of Divinity at the Union Biblical Seminary Pune and Master's in Theology (specialising in Counseling) at the United Theological College, Bangalore. He started his counseling ministry since 2003. Presently he is also serving as an ordained Pastor of the IPC. It was in the year 2007 that the ministry of Ashatheeram was launched as the fulfillment of a long awaited vision. The motto of Ashatheeram is 'Growing Towards Full Humanness'. Ashatheeram is a multi dimensional Network for Holistic Growth of individuals, families, and communities. Since 1998, Rev. Saji serves as the Principal of Focus India Theological College, Nilambur, Kerala, India.
